At St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, we see faith as a journey shared in community. We are a small parish with deep roots, grounded in Scripture, nourished by the Sacraments, and guided by the Holy Spirit. Our life together reflects the Episcopal Church’s balance of scripture, tradition, and reason, a foundation that invites both reverence and thoughtfulness in the practice of faith.
We strive to be a place where ancient faith meets everyday life. Our worship is centered on the Holy Eucharist, the heart of Episcopal spirituality, where we encounter Christ through Word and Sacrament. Our services are prayerful and ordered, yet filled with warmth and participation.
We are also a parish that values connection. We share meals, laughter, and conversation after worship. We support one another through life’s joys and struggles, and we reach beyond our walls to serve the wider community of Mount Carmel and Wabash County.
Our faith teaches that every person is made in the image of God. Because of that, our welcome is open and unconditional. You don’t have to have all the answers, or even know where to begin. Whether you are returning to church or stepping inside for the first time, we hope you will find this to be a place of peace, truth, and belonging.
