Faith grows best in community, and learning is part of how we live that faith together. At St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, formation is not just about study but about deepening our understanding of God’s presence in everyday life.
Each week, our rector preaches sermons that open Scripture in practical and prayerful ways. These homilies invite reflection, not just agreement, encouraging us to listen for what God is saying in the world around us. Recordings and written versions of recent sermons are available online for those who wish to revisit them or were unable to attend in person.
We also offer opportunities for study and discussion throughout the year. These may include Bible studies, seasonal classes, or small group gatherings that explore faith, prayer, and the Episcopal tradition. Participants bring a wide range of experiences and questions, which makes the conversation richer and more real.
Children and youth are always welcome in worship, and families are encouraged to participate together. While we do not currently have a separate children’s service, we provide space for young ones to learn and grow within the structure of worship itself.
Formation at St. John the Baptist is rooted in curiosity, conversation, and compassion. Whether through study, prayer, or shared service, we continue to learn what it means to live as followers of Christ in the world today.
